Big Big Train are delighted to offer fans the opportunity to become Big Big Train 2022 Tour Patrons.

With the main band comprising seven musicians plus the BBT brass ensemble, the touring costs of BBT are very significant. While we try to control costs and obtain savings as much as possible, the band’s costs are materially higher than for many other rock bands because of BBT’s sheer number of musicians, which in turn necessitates a larger support crew (and two tour buses rather than one in North America given US regulations). In 2019, the band’s first ever UK tour was a huge success musically but still resulted in a significant five digit sterling loss.

BBT’s ambitions are bold and hence 2022’s tour. We have budgeted that the North American leg of the tour will lead to another significant financial loss for the band. The UK tour is likely at best to break even.

No one within BBT harbours the slightest ambitions for private jets, yachts or – heaven forbid! – tax exile. We recognise that we have to speculate to accumulate, but it would be nice if we could ensure in the short term that the band’s touring made greater financial sense and specifically enabled us to pay the musicians and crew more competitively relative to their expertise. All this in turn will enable 2022’s shows to be the start of more regular post pandemic touring for the band rather than a one off.

The band launched its digital Passengers Club in February 2020 and has enjoyed considerable support from members and patrons of that Club. Indeed, the invaluable and generous support of the Passengers Club has allowed BBT not only to survive but thrive. A number of members and patrons have previously told us that they would love to be able to support the band further. It is with all this in mind that we invite you to become a Big Big Train 2022 Tour Patron.

Terms & Conditions of the BBT 2022 Tour Patron offers:

• These offers are administered on behalf of Big Big Train by Big Big Train Productions Limited (“BBTPL”) and are separate from the Big Big Train Passengers Club.
• In order to process t-shirts sizes and names for the tour programme, the Soundcheck Patron packages can only be purchased one at a time.

• These offers do not include a ticket to any BBT 2022 show – tickets must be bought separately from the advertised outlets. However you do not need to purchase a ticket for Big Big Train’s 2022 tour to be a 2022 Tour Patron.

• Tour Patron T-shirts will be sent out in early January 2022. You can enter your t-shirt size at check-out.

• The exclusive downloads will be selected from a show of BBT’s choice and will be mixed by Rob Aubrey and sent out within 30 days of the last show of the tour. You agree that these exclusive downloads shall be for your own private use only and shall not be broadcast, replicated or uploaded to any social media/streaming/file sharing platform.
• Tour programmes, tour laminates and signed art prints will be available for collection at the first 2022 show which you attend. If you are unable to attend a show, your tour programme, tour laminate and signed art print will be sent out to you within 30 days of the last show of the tour.

• Attendance at soundcheck is subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. Availability generally including a maximum of 20 Tour Patrons at each soundcheck. Availability is on a first come, first served basis.

2. If you have purchased the Soundcheck Patron level and cannot attend for the soundcheck any reason, please let us know an alternative show’s soundcheck which you would like to attend and we will try to accommodate you, subject to venue limits.

3. You agree not to take any photographs or record any video without the express consent of a member of the BBT management team. Photographs will be taken for you at the soundcheck and sent to you after the show which you have attended. These may be shared on social media.

4. You agree to depart from the venue after your one hour slot at the soundcheck when requested to do so by a member of the BBT management team.

5. You acknowledge that the soundcheck constitutes important preparation and working time for the band and agree not to interrupt them or their crew during the soundcheck.

6. Please note that soundcheck attendance does not constitute a formal “meet and greet” opportunity with members of the band. BBT’s policy remains not to undertake paid “meet and greets”. Band members will make themselves freely available after every show whenever possible, including to sign merchandise upon request.
