Peter Rogers wrote on Big Big Train's wall: Never paid much attention to the Discover Weekly Selection Spotify picks each week. This week's was a great selection, a mix of songs I knew and ones I didn't. Some vintage Tull and Pat Metheny Group for example and Visions by Haken which made me realise I need to delve into their stuff. (1 like, 3 comments)

Bradley Joseph Francis Birzer posted a link to Big Big Train's wall: Fellow Passengers, I'm quite tempted to purchase the Steve Hackett boxset, PREMONITIONS, but the cost in the U.S. is pretty steep. Around $125. Is it worth it? I see it's fourteen disks and comes a nice-looking book. Are the recordings really well done? Thanks for any help and advice. (1 like, 6 comments)

Duane Day posted a video on Big Big Train's wall: 7 songs/7 days (the BBT group iteration) day 5. A cappella, anyone? This is my favorite Take 6 song. Prog-related tangent: There's a brilliant cover of this song by a group called Accent, which includes Simon Åkesson of Moon Safari (thanks to Tobbe Janson for turning me on to them.) Today's nominee - if you aren't already doing one of these here - is Shelby Nelson. (1 like)

Warren Butson wrote on Big Big Train's wall: Whilst we seem to be in the mood for looking back to our starting point in music I wondered what was the first "prog" thing you heard that started your journey into this mad world. Mine was Fanfare for the Common Man by this group Emerson Lake and Palmer who I assumed were like Crosby Stills and Nash! I bought their "greatest hits!" and thought it was awful, Then Hoedown grew on me then KE9 then Still... etc so bought Tarkus and hated it, But then it started to grow on me so bought Brain Salad S... Sami Wakim posted a photo on Big Big Train's wall: I bought Flying Colors - Second Nature a couple of days ago. While I am enjoying listening to it, I can't help but think that all of the Neal Morse/Mike Portnoy collaborations are all of the same, nothing new, no groundbreaking. Does anyone else share the same sentiment? (20 likes, 25 comments)
