Steve Hughes (drums)
BIG BIG STEVIE HUGHES was born in Middlesex, west London in Dec 1975 and joined BBT way back in 1991 when, having moved to Bournemouth with all good intention, discovered an advert in the local paper for a new band, seeking drummer.
school days
'I was quite young at the time (15 infact) and remember that i had to lie a bit to get the job as i thought i would be too young! i told them i was 18 but hey didn't realise that i was still at school some of the time (te he!) but it was a good band and think they liked me, they were nice boys and we got on well, despite the BIG BIG age-gap!'.
'I would regularly skive off school to practice my drumming and learn the BBT set' (a
bit naughty) but more fun than studying for exams.
big big drummerboy
After a few gigs and recordings with BBT he moved back to London to concentrate on other projects including a 3 year stint with THE ENID (1994-1997). Extensive gigging followed in an attempt to relaunch THE ENID, and after 3 wild years, Steve decided to call it a day with the band.
'There was some bitterness near the end, but without doubt the best times of my life!' Many a back breaking pub and club gig with various other less well known acts would follow during and over the next few years. 'Knew i should've done those poxy exams!'
